It's reported that Chinese steel giant Baosteel might leave its domestic prices for steel plates unchanged for December.

It's known that Baosteel has kept its domestic prices for steel plates unchanged for a period of time after it cut the prices by RMB180/ton in September.

The prices of hot rolled coils have increased by RMB145/ton in the Chinese domestic market since the middle of September until the second week of October, driven by the government's economic policy.

However, the steel plates still remained weak in the Chinese domestic market.

Thus, industry sources said that the Chinese steelmakers may remain the domestic prices for steel plates unchanged even though the prices of raw materials such as iron ore and coking coals are falling recently.
